  • Well, I got a new car - a 2001 Honda Prelude!  It rides very nice and is quite the improvement over my 95 Chevy Corsica (although that car never gave me any real trouble).  The prelude is a unique color - electron blue.  I got a nice deal on it and am very happy with my first big purchase (which is paid in full!)  Gotta love having a "real" job.

In other news I'm looking at going to Ohio State University for statisitics.  My gre scores weren't that great (supposedly I scored above 53% of all those that took the verbal test, and above 64% in the math...I'm not sure what population these percents are referring too though - is it last years?), but hopefully I can still get in.   Awaiting their email responses.  Worse case is that I don't get in at all, get a permanent teaching position, and have the school pay for my masters over several years.  Best case is that I get in free on a fellowship.  I'm thinking I might go on a teaching assistantship, at which case I won't have to take extra classes as with the fellowship (which actually might be easier, given that I am trained in education).

I've also been playing around with my new toy, the m3 adaptor for the Nintendo DS.  In sum, it allows me to play any gameboy advance or ds game.  So I've been wasting some time playing castlevania (excellent game btw).

Still dabbling in MAME and emulation, and I read about a new light gun that peaks my interest.  I still need to update the arcade cab with new versions/roms/frontend.

I continue to pray for my brother, Andy.  Love you.

    Live long and prosper

  • Merry Christmas everyone!  We had the Lundgren family Christmas Eve get together at my dad's cousins, and Christmas day at our house.  After church, grandpa came over for some games of 500 and played some mean toons on the guitar.  All was well except my brother, who basically tried to ruin Christmas for the rest of us because he spent all of his Christmas money on drugs.  I'm now having to listen to him curse at my mom for not giving him more money...I am ashamed that he acts like this and I have no idea how he came to be the person he is growing up in the same household as I did.  It is really jogging the whole family, and my dad is going to have another heart attack.  I'd ask that anyone reading this who cares, please pray for my brother, and that he would come to know God as he once did.

Anyway, just thought I'd share this: a student and I were discussing evolution/creation and he directed me to a great website.  www.drdino.com.  There are some videos discussing the creation, dinosaurs, and lies in school textbooks.  I'm watching the first video now and it is very well done.  I enjoyed the part where he states that creationists believe "In the beginning God....", while evolutionists believe "In the beginning Dirt...", referring to the big bang, which theorizes that all the matter in the universe was concentrated into a small, spinning dot, which exploded - forming planets, stars, and eventually life.  So we either came from rocks or God created us.  If we came from rocks, then there is no purpose to life, and when we die, we are simply nonexistent.  If we were the work of a Creator, then we certainly have a purpose, our lives have real meaning, and there is life after death.  I choose to believe the latter.

Anywho, have a wonderful last week of 2005!!!

  • What Breed of Dog Are You?

    Adam, you're a St. Bernard!

No bones about it, you're a dedicated, trustworthy St. Bernard. Loyal and good-hearted, you're as reliable as they come. Your naturally protective personality is reflected in the way you treat people close to you. Sheltering your nearest and dearest from harm (or bad news, for that matter) is high on your priority list. That attitude earns you lots of gold stars, not to mention respect. People admire your strong morals — and how well you stick to them! Focused, steadfast, and determined, you always aim to please. It's a breed like yours that makes the world a better place — woof!

  • hehe, I just happened upon this auction:

    "Nintendo World Championships 1990"

    Only 6k!

  • I suppose I should have mentioned this earlier, but I've been extremely busy.  I was hired at Ephrata High School as a long term sub for the year!  It was very last mintue as far as the job hiring process goes.  I was called on a Friday, interviewed that night, had a second interview on the following Monday, was hired immediately, began teacher induction (which had already started the previous Thursday), and school started the next Monday.  Weeee!  So, I've been really busy trying to make my room look decent, making up lesson plans, copying things like crazy, grading things, and learning the school culture.  It is very time consuming, and I have little life beyond school.  I've been told it gets better after the first year - but even then they give you new classes - so it's like starting all over.

Hopefully everything goes well and I'll survive :)  God bless!

About Me

  • Welcome to my life...simple, yet complicated. All the muck that's fit to rake. I will attempt to update this monstrosity every once and a while. So stop by a time or two, sit back, curl up next to the fire, laugh, cry, and be astonished, as my life unfolds before your very eyes... ...ok so maybe It won't be that exciting...:) Caution: This site may cause temporal loss of sanity, severe mental illness, ability to chew gum, loss of bladder control, and/or a strong urge to eat spaghetti.
